Playing in the Leaves

Check out these cute videos of Lily and Isaac in the leaves.

If you didn't catch that, Lily said "Can you put Isaac to bed?" Isaac loves to make his "cheese" face when he sees my camera. :D

The Mouse Battle

This past week or two we have been having a battle with a mouse. Wednesday, I noticed many things in my pantry had been eatten into and after clearning out the shelves, found the mouse droppings and other evidence. It was so yucky. Here is a picture of some of the stash I had to throw out. We realized he likes living in our oven.

Thursday, our oven wouldn't turn off after dinner. In an attempt to turn it off, the oven door locked (luckily after I got dinner out of the oven, right?). So we had to pull out the oven to unplug it. Under the oven, yep, more mouse evidences. After another fun hour of cleaning under the oven we guarded up the holes along the wall with mouse traps.

Still didn't get him. Friday night we saw him run underneath the fireplace. I stood guard for 15 minutes or so, until Tommy went in the kitchen and saw him in the stove again. Grr. Sneaky mouse. Saturday morning, when Lily crawled out of bed, she sat at the top of the stairs and sleepily said, "Did we catch the mouse yet?" It has really been bothering us all!

Saturday we had some friends over and we saw him run into the pantry. With me pulling things out and 3 people standing guard with tennis rackets and such the mouse finally ran out and between my legs, YUCK, and back into the oven. Last night he got desperate for food and finally landed on one of the sticky traps behind the oven. YIPEE! We were all excited.

Yipee! I can clean my house now!

Can someone else get married?

For Katie's wedding, I got to wear this beautiful dress (in dark blue, of course).

It is soo fabulous, I love wearing it. I guess I want another one.

Can someone else get married? I want this dress!

This one is pretty stunning too... if I could pull it off. :D

A Little Update

Isaac has been into mischief again. This day it was into the shredder paper. Oh boy, this kid keeps me on my toes! Sorry it has been a while since you got an update. Halloween week we had my dad here, then Lily and I got colds, then Shauna came up for the week while Tom was hunting in Montana, then I got Lasik eye surgery! And now Isaac has a cold. It's been a busy first half of the month already and I can't believe Christmas is in about 5 weeks! WOW! Time to get cracking.

Missing socks?

Today I picked Isaac up out of his bed and he was... as usual... sockless. He always seems to take his socks off in his crib. Well, today I saw one in between the crib and the wall so I pulled the crib away from the wall. Guess what I found? His pj pants which he took off yesterday (along with his diaper which he kindly handed to me), a turtle, and 11 socks. Along with some lovely milk splatters along the wall. Thanks bud! Case of the missing socks is solved! Except... why an odd number of socks?

Also, Lily said to me this morning, "I don't want to eat any more cereal. I just want to let my food sog."

And in the car on the way home from grocery shopping we were singing "The Wheels on the Bus". Lily made up a few new verses...
"The Daddy on the bus says, 'Eat your dinner.'"
"The Sister on the bus says, 'I will eat.'"
"The animals on the bus say, 'Oink, oink, oink.'"

And tonight she added up her own score after playing a game with us. She even added 9+3=12. She's such a smarty pants!

Happy Halloween

This past week has been a fun-filled-costume-wearing week. Last Saturday, Lily got to go to a birthday party for her friend McKayla. She dressed up at Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I don't have a picture, sadly but hopefully my friend Lindsey will get me one (hint hint). Then she for her preschool party on Thursday, she dressed up like Cinderella (with brown hair).

Then Friday she had a Halloween party at her friend Ryan's house. She dressed up as Pocahontas.

Friday night we all carved pumpkins. It was a really fun time. Even Isaac loved getting the guts out. Lily's design was pretty intricate. Good job Tommy for deciphering it and coming up with an awesome jack-o-lantern. There is also a goofy picture of Tommy doing the class "Lily cheese face".

Then yesterday for Halloween we had the real deal... Cinderella with blond hair. "I'm wearing a wig," she told everyone after saying "Trick or Treat". Isaac was a knight. The other knight in shiny armor is Braden our next door neighbor. Come to find out, after he saw Isaac's shield the day before, he made his dad make him one for Halloween. :) He was a cute knight. Isaac and Lily both enjoyed riding in the wagon in between houses. Isaac picked up very quickly on the whole idea of Trick or Treating... go to door, get candy. He was pretty excited to look into his bucket and see all his candy. We were glad to have my dad here visiting to enjoy the fun holiday with!

Poor Lily, who had started to catch my cold Saturday morning, wanted to go home after getting through half the neighborhood. She was tired and didn't even want any candy... just wanted to go home. Both kiddos definitely needed a good night's sleep. Tommy, my dad and I stayed up watching some scary Halloween movie on tv... yuck! I don't like scary movies! :) Hope you had a fun Halloween.
