Some more art
In my art class we did an Andy Warhol inspired art piece with personalized photos. I think the kids had the most fun with this project!
On the last class day we did my favorite artist, Monet. The bridge was taped off with masking tape first. Then they could paint right over it and then take off the tape to reveal the Japanese bridge. This one is Lily's. I love her lily pads. :)
Really loved this sweet girl's painting.
Thought this boy really understood the technique in the water, then he painted over his tape yellow so he could really see the bridge.
This week I got to go into Lily's classroom (READ week at school) and do an Eric Carle inspired art project creating butterflies. The kids all had fun and their butterflies look awesome!
Here is their classroom door all decorated!

A Fun Weekend of Firsts
Lily made this three layer cake with her Easy Bake Oven. Too cute!
Hmm, what is going on here?
Yep, Saturday we had a nice day and not much to do. It was finally the day the training wheels came off! Lily was a bit nervous...
Tommy was running along side her up and down the street until she got the feel for it. I was soo proud of him for teaching her this wonderful right of passage!
I hung out with the boys and tried to entertain them and cheer for Lily. I love how Isaac wants to be just like his Daddy, even wearing his hat backwards like Dad. ;)
There she goes! She did great! We were both sooo proud!
Today we drove up to the mountain to find some snow! Caleb liked eating it.
I brought a laundry basket as a make-shift sled. It worked great and the kids had a blast.
Even Caleb got in on the sledding action!
Check out Isaac's snow outfit.... hoodie sweatshirt with raincoat on top, Lily's 2T mittens, and sweatpants with a trash bag taped around his waist and two holes cut in the bottom, plus small boots that barely fit him. I said "Poor middle child," but Tommy said "that's Vegas snow clothes." Hey it worked!

Something New
About a month ago, Lily's friend told her about girl scouts and Lily really wanted to do it. Well, I contacted the Girl Scout Council here and they directed me to a great Daisy troop that meets at the local elementary school just up the street from my house. We went for Lily's first troop meeting and another girl from Lily's class was in the troop. She was soo excited to already have one friend. She got in just in time to sell come cookies for a couple weeks and has sold 115 boxes! Thanks to all our friends and family that helped support her troop.
Caleb fell face-first on the tile last week. It was right at bed time and he calmed down quickly and wanted to go to bed so off he went. Well, when he woke up in the morning his whole forehead and upper nose area was swollen. It looked just awful. My friend said it reminded her of a Star Trek character. Seriously, the pictures don't show how swollen it was between his eyes. He actually had some older bruising on his forehead from a bad bonk to the fireplace a few days before, but that just made it all look worse. A day or two later his eyes/nose area started showing the bruises and he had two little black eyes for a week. Poor clumsy Caleb!
The kids made a little mud pond on Saturday to play in.
Valentine's Day dinner... Caleb lovin' the jello!
See my black eyes?
Tommy made us a delicious Filet Mignon wrapped in bacon and the most amazing potatoes and yummy bread. Yum Yum. I'm thankful he's my sweetheart! (just wish he made dinner like this every week!)
Here's Caleb this morning, walking around with Isaac's hat on...
He loved it and would get mad if he couldn't get it to go back on right.
He is also a little obsessed with shoes lately and tries to put any on that he finds.

A little fun around here
Isaac likes to take pictures in the car.
Here is a cute picture of a play date with Isaac and friend Ty. He was her protector knight. He kept calling her "mermaid" and she would correct him and say, "No, I'm Ariel".
Caleb got into the goldfish one day... spilled the WHOLE box on the floor and was pretty proud of himself too.
He loves to get into the pantry and has finally discovered he can climb on top of boxes to reach higher shelves.
He's pretty mad when he falls though and I'm standing back trying to take a picture of him climbing.
Caleb is happy when daddy picks him up.
Lily had the most perfect milk mustache the other day.
Isaac had a fun time feeding Caleb on Sunday. Yogurt with mini M&Ms. No wonder he loved it!
He kept saying, "say AW, Fwa-ub". Lily was cracking up in the background. ;)
Lily had her first BIG project due last week. She wrote a 4 page paper on Earth's five natural resources and made this model. She had to write and represent how we use them, how they each become polluted and how to conserve them. She did an awesome job.
She added the runner because runners need clean air.
The only thing we could think of for "polluting" rocks is graffiti. Nice little lesson in respecting property.
Here is a poem she has hanging up in the hall at school so I took a picture for you. :) Click to enlarge. I like the ending... "taste that sweet, minty goodness." ;)
UPDATE! Lily's project got chosen as one of three in the class to represent their class at the school science fair. The kids all voted (most of them voted for their own project I'm guessing) and Lily's was chosen. Pretty excited for her!
