Happy Easter!

The kids had a fun Easter egg hunt yesterday when they first woke up.  Today we enjoyed church and a little Easter ham dinner.  So grateful for my family and my Savior!

Zions

Tommy took the day off work on Friday and we drove up to Zions to have an adventure in hiking with the kids.  It was a bit crowded, thanks to spring break and perfect weather.  We met some good friends up there and the kids had so much fun hiking.

A picture of our family and the Van Wagoner family.  It was so fun to have friends to hike with!

Birthday Party

Lily had a fun birthday party with a few of her friends today.  It was Jr. Spy Training Academy. :)  We did code decryption, fingerprinting, and memory training (ideas from this great website).  We ate some lunch ("spy sandwiches") and when everyone was about finished, the doorbell rang and there was a confidential envelope on the mat. Inside was a note from the National Spy Academy President saying that Dr. Chaos had taken their party loot bags and will blow them up if you don't follow the clues.  They had to open the key to the mail box, decipher some codes, dig in the sand box and read a clue in the mirror.  It was pretty fun.  I think the kids really loved this part of the party.  We had an awesome BOMB cake that I made, my first time making my own fondant and it turned out pretty awesome.  I found a sparkler with an 8 that worked perfect for the bomb.  Then we did a "bomb squad training" balloon toss in the backyard with little black water balloons.  It ended pretty quickly since the water balloons took too long to fill up so we only had like 12 or so.  And Lily got wet thanks to her little brother, and started to cry.  :)  It isn't a fun party until the birthday girl is crying.  Lily got some fun presents from her friends and really had a great time with all of them.  Successful birthday!
In the process of making the cake... I've seen Cake Boss enough, I should be able to do this! ;)
