Caleb is 9 months old

Caleb is just under 20 pounds in the 45% for weight.  He is in the 58% for height and 87% for head circumference.  He is prone to bonking his poor little head.  Check out this goose egg he got last week:

He is a happy little boy, unless he is tired or hungry or teething of course. :)  He likes to crawl around the house and explore new things.  He likes playing with toys and pulling himself up to stand.  He is finally getting used to a bottle.  He loves all kinds of baby foods, graham crackers, yogurt, and apple juice.  He's great at growling and super ticklish!  He likes to clap and smile.

School's Out for the Summer!

To celebrate the end of school, I drove down to California for a few days away from hot 110 deg. temperatures.  The kids did pretty well in the car for the three hour drive so I was glad it wasn't any longer.  We got to go to Huntington Beach.  Lily LOVED collecting seashells and even found 3 sand dollars.  Isaac loved playing in the sand and watching the seagulls.  Caleb was a bit grumpy but eventually went to sleep for a little while.  We saw lots of dolphins and had a great time with Grandma Shauna, Lanie, and Terri! I got a bad sunburn and read the second Twilight book. :D

A Big Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma Boucher, we were able to go to the San Diego Safari Park.  The kids and I had such a great time seeing all the animals on the Safari Tram, feeding the birds, riding the carousel, and picking a little "treasure" from the gift shop.  Lily picked a little baby white tiger, which she carries around with her constantly.  Isaac picked an elephant on a stick... the claw, moving mouth head toy thing... don't know what those are called.  Caleb got a book about baby elephants that is soo cute.

Caleb learned to pull himself up to stand and he learned how to clap! He also bonked his head a ton while we were there. Poor little guy!

Isaac in Sports

For the first month of summer I signed Isaac up for a weekly sports camp for preschoolers.  They get to play soccer, baseball, and basketball.  It is hot and most of the time Isaac just wants to sit with me but he gets out there a little bit and does his thing.  He is definitely best at baseball.  At home, Tommy bribes him with a cookie if he hits the ball over the fence and into our pool.  So, when Isaac stepped up to the tee it's no surprise that he was aiming high for the fence and got 5 balls over. :)  Basketball took him a little while to get the hang of but I think he liked shooting the ball.  We will need to work more on dribbling at home.  Soccer is kind of boring to him.  Just running and kicking in 110 deg. heat, I can't say that I blame him, even though I love soccer! :)

Besides baking in the sun, what are the rest of us doing while Isaac is playing?

I spend three fourths the time encouraging Isaac to go play.  It's exhausting being the mom sometimes!

Lily's Haircut

Lily wanted to get her hair cut shorter for the summer.  Here is a picture of what she wanted to look like, with super short hair.  :)  We went ahead and did it last week so she could show her friends before school got out.  She looks adorable.  I was tempted to have them cut her bangs off but Lily really wants to grow them out and we have suffered through it this long already.  We went to a "kid cut" place, which to me just means they will probably do just as horrible of a job as I could do at home, but Lily will have more fun and I don't have to clean up the mess.  Not sure if it is worth the $ but ah well.  The cars were fun to sit in and Lily liked the pig tails with little flowers that she got done (nice technique so I don't notice how uneven it is right away).
