Let the Dreams Begin

I rarely remember my dreams... except when I get pregnant... then all of a sudden I'm having some of the strangest dreams and I can't stop thinking about them all day. Yesterday morning I woke up just as I was escaping from a maximum security women's prison. I had this elaborate escape plan and actually walked right out the front door at one point carrying a visiting woman's baby as part of my disguise. This morning I woke up after talking myself into an arranged marriage with the king of some foreign country. I was telling myself that I could surely learn to love any man that treated me right and provided and cared for me. It was all very strange. I wonder what I'll dream of tonight.

Owie Update

Lily's face is almost all the way healed already. Her finger cut is looking good. Isaac's hand is doing pretty well, just still pink tinted and turns purple when it gets cold or warm. I hope the color continues to fade over time. Today was a good day. :D

Lily's Very Bad Day

Yesterday was not a very good day. Isaac learned how to throw a candle holder on the hard wood floor and watch it shatter. As I was cleaning up the mess I sent Isaac upstairs. A bit later he came down this Lily's music box water globe that she listens to before she goes to sleep every night, without fail. He threw that in the exact spot of the candle holder and laughed as it shattered. Poor Lily. She was "heartbroken" (she said). She said, "How am I going to go to sleep at night?" I felt so bad for her as she just sat there and cried. I asked her again to keep Isaac away as I clean up the glass and water (and glitter everywhere) and instead she walks right over and picks up a piece of glass, slicing her finger. It was super painful and a pretty deep cut but luckily not too wide so I don't think it needs stitches. We put a band-aid on it and after 15 minute or so, checked it and it had stopped bleeding. Whew.

She was super happy to get out of the house and play with a friend for a couple hours. When her friend brought her home, Tommy and I visited with her mom outside (my sweet friend) while the kids were playing with leaves and having a screaming contest. Then all of a sudden they decided to race each other across the street. Lily tripped and fell as we were calling them back, scrapping up her face and lip and skinning her knee. Her poor lip is still pretty fat today. We are hoping for a better day today! :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

Last week, Lily and I got to go see the Cinderella Ballet. I think she really enjoyed it, though it took a lot of patience from me. I think we will wait a few more years before we try it again. Here is a picture of us before we left and a picture of Lily before her Valentine preschool party today.

We made "hidden message" valentines for our close family this year. It was a lot of fun to try and Lily even got to taste the Kool-aid we used... a rare treat at our house. We are so grateful for our family and friends. We love you! Happy Valentine's Day!

What are your plans for v-day weekend? Thanks sweetie for this sweet reminder of your intentions... :D

Crazy Isaac

Isaac is sure growing up. He is understanding more each day and will listen and follow through with my directions, if he particularly wants to. He is talking a little more too, but not even close to Lily at his age. He likes to cuddle stuffed animals, LOVES playing blanket monster, and laughs at Curious George. He's such a "little man" and we sure love him.

Isaac is always finding Lily's things and putting them on. This time it was a headband and plastic necklace thing. He carried Lily's baby around giving it kisses and talking to it. It was adorable to watch.

Last week, poor Isaac bumped into the fireplace... which he knows not to touch but I think he was stumbling and leaned up against it to catch himself. I was sitting right next to the fire and didn't think there was any way he could get hurt with me right next to him. Lesson learned. He got a burn on his hand. It doesn't seem to bother him much but I sure hope it heals nicely. Tommy said boys like having cool scars... but not one you got when you were one, right?
