1) Being with family and getting to know Randy, the Wrides, and Jack (Lily's new "best friend").
2) Playing tons of games during nap time and after bedtime.
3) Just cruisin' around on the boat all day long, watching others entertain me with their impressive skills. Watching Shauna talk to herself and laugh while she was water skiing, only "in perfect conditions" I might add.
4) Watching Isaac stick his head in this little hole on the boat and fall asleep.
5) Actually getting up on the slalom ski on my first try! It's been two years since I got up last so that was quite the accomplishment for me.
6) Watching Lily wake board with Katie... may be her last year doing it. This was Lily's favorite thing by far.
7) Hiking to Rainbow Bridge (or "Rainbow Rock" as Lily called it) even though it was super hot outside and I got teased about dinosaurs the whole way back.
8) Getting some reading done. I think it took me most of the week to get one chapter read, but that got me hooked.
9) Eating good food after a long day in the sun. Thanks Shauna and Shannon!
10) Our $25 short cut through Zion's National Park on our way out of Lake Powell was actually pretty enjoyable and worth while, just unexpected.
Hard things about Lake Powell:
1) Having kids to entertain, less relaxing.
2) Sleeping with Isaac, my super-light sleeper, instead of my husband.
3) Not much room for Isaac to crawl around. He did get some practice with walking and can now take 10-15 steps on his own. Video to come.
4) Hard to find things to feed Isaac. It was a good thing he drank his "power drinks" every day. A little concoction I came up with: one jar of pureed vegetables, one jar of fruit, and V8 juice Splash. Score!
5) Missing Kirsti! :D
6) Missing sleeping with Tommy (he slept up top with Lily) and sleeping in! Isaac was up at 7 a.m. most mornings.
7) Losing another pair of sunglasses to Lake Powell. Lake Powell - 2, Melonie - 0. Lily also lost her goggles on her second trip down the slide (after conking Shauna in the lip with them the first time... Sorry Fat Lip Shauna). Tommy happened to save Rick's sunglasses once so at least he scored one for the team! Yeah, I really wish Shauna hadn't have drowned Isaac, Lily and me on the tube our first time.
8) Long 12 hour drive there with a one year old that is very busy and doesn't know how to sleep in the car. We even tried Benadryl this time but didn't do much for Isaac. Lily wanted some and was out cold. So silly! Luckily our drive home was broken up into 3 easier legs. So much more relaxing drive home.
