Some Fun Randomness

First up, a "Lily Talk"... what I call something Lily says that is cute.
Today in the car we drove past a cemetery. She asked about what it was so I told her that when we die we are buried in a cemetery and they mark the spot with a big rock that has our name on it. She seemed a little confused. She asked, "Who buries the body?" I said, "Well, the cemetery worker does it." Then she asked, "Who buries him when he dies?" I just thought that was so cute of her inquisitive little mind.

Here are some videos of Lily dancing:

And one of her singing the second verse to the Pocahontas song she was asked to learn in her dance class. She practiced and practiced for three days only to miss the recital. She sure has a great memory and loves to sing! I especially love how Isaac pushes her and comes back to hug her... classic.

Today we went to this new bounce house place near my house. It is reasonably priced and close to home so I can imagine us going there a lot in the Winter. Hopefully it stays clean, not too crowded, and well maintained, right? :D

They had this Velcro wall and Velcro suit that you put on; you jump up onto the wall and stick like a fly on sticky paper. It was hilarious to throw Lily up there and make her hang on and try to pull herself down. If I didn't have a big belly, I think I might have tried it. :D

And a few more pictures from Utah. We had to stop by the great children's museum they have there since my local pass gets us in for free. The kids had a great time. Lily was the commander of the construction zone for almost an hour! She was telling the other kids to bring up certain shaped blocks to build her house. It was funny to see her be so "in charge" and efficiently having fun at the same time.

I found it a little comical that Isaac knew how to do pretend ironing in the little house. I guess I get to do that a lot. :D

This is just one of Lily and Isaac playing well together... they have been doing this more often lately. I love it! Gotta love the Mr. Potato Head hats. :D

And a couple sewing projects I got done yesterday. They are gifts but my kids don't mind modeling them. Good bye JULY! One month until Lily starts school and two months left in my pregnancy! Craziness!

Summer Vacation - part 2

After our California trip we drove up to Utah. I had to take Tommy to the airport so he could get back to work. I'm so grateful he has such a good job and works so hard for our family, though I wish he could have stayed and had more fun with us. We got to go up to the mountains and attend a family reunion for my mom's side of the family. There were over 150 people there and it was really fun to meet new family and see family we don't see very often.

Lily quickly became best friends with my cousin's daughter Abryella. They went everywhere together and when they didn't they were sure asking about each other. She also enjoyed playing with her cousin Trevyn. The kids had fun playing in the stream by our camp ground and a nice playground. It was SUPER hot! They also enjoyed the fun carnival games and prizes and the cool "candy cannon" that my mom's cousin Curtis did for the kids. Lily won at Bingo and was super excited about that! Another day we had an auction with homemade crafts or small kids toys for people to bid on. Lily enjoyed bidding and won a couple dolls, a homemade doll's sleeping bag, a baseball mit and ball for Isaac, and a "magic" wand. I think everyone liked the purses and birthday banner I made, but I was off chasing after the kids. Isaac enjoyed walking through the woods, collecting "nature" in his pockets. We were lucky to get to leave the mountain at night to sleep in a hotel. That's my kind of camping!

Lily also got to have her first taste of roasting marshmallows. She was a little shy about putting her marshmallow low enough so I did most of the roasting for her and she did the eating. Isaac was content to eat the un-roasted marshmallows so I let that be. We had a fun first camping experience and were glad to do it with my mom and sisters and family.

After camping we got spend a night with my parents and have a yummy tuna feast with my family. We played a couple games of "Walk the Dogs" with the kids, which is Lily's favorite game. She is so stinkin' good at it too! After an exhausting week in the sun I was sad to leave my family but ready to get back home to my husband and my bed. Hopefully I can get the kiddos back on a schedule this week and get them to eat some vegetables! :D Lily is sure looking forward to kindergarten starting up soon! Just one month away...

Tuna Fish

YUM!
Thanks Tommy for catching so many yummy tuna fish for us to eat. :D

Summer Vacation - part 1

We had a fun Summer Vacation the past couple weeks. First we drove 15 hours down to California for some hot, summer fun in the sun with the Wolfe family. We spent some time on the lake, at the beach, and by the pool. Tommy was able to go tuna fishing with his dad again and had a great time. We all enjoyed celebrating Tom's 50th birthday with a tuna feast! :D Here are some picture highlights and a fun video of Lily on the river board.

Lily and Isaac both slept for about 45 minutes of our 15 hour drive. It was treasured time.

Lily loved swimming in the warm (very green) lake water. She was a jumping fish!

Isaac enjoyed the boat ride and stayed pretty content just relaxing on board.

Here is a video of Lily on the river board.

A crowded day at the beach: Because the tide was so high the beach was pretty crowded. The kids still had a lot of fun playing in the sand and jumping the waves.

Isaac always seems to get a face full of sand. This time he was laying in the sand taking a rest. I didn't realize until after we got home that he had a fever and was feeling sick. Poor little guy!

Lanie was great at sharing her cookies with her great-grandkids. They kept coming back for more!

While the boys were away fishing, grandmas, moms and kids went to see Toy Story 3. It was a cute movie.

We also went to the Build a Bear Workshop. Lily has always wanted to make a stuffed animal for real, especially since we always "pretend" when we look around in their store.

Isaac picked out a puppy, of course, and I helped name him "Chase".

Lily picked out a kitty, of course, and immediately named her "Anna" (conveniently the name of her new Beta fish too). She had a fun time picking out a beautiful ballerina outfit for her to wear.

The kids loved spending time in the pool. I also enjoyed that it was 90 deg! Perfect pool temperature I think. :D

Happy 4th of July!

We had a fun time watching fireworks with some friends. It's a pretty interesting site to look across the valley and see so many fireworks going off all around. I just love fireworks. Isaac loved them too. Lily was her usual phonophobic self (or ligyrophobic?). She did enjoy the show for the most part and enjoyed playing with her good friend Ryan, who she hasn't seen for a few months.

After the fireworks show, Lily and Tommy headed to the backyard for their first daddy-daughter camp out. I seriously thought they would last an hour, but Tommy said Lily was soo exhausted (and so was he) that she only talked for 10-15 minutes and then they both slept in until after 8! What a great experience!

Happy 3rd of July!

We had a fun day yesterday in a little town's 4th of July Celebration. The kids got to play a few carnival style games and Lily got her face painted. Lily also tried to "round-up" a live chicken, without success. She was pretty bummed about that. Isaac loved the little train ride. Lily was really fearless in regards to trying out the one big "ride" they had, a spinning cage that flipped you upside down. I'm so proud of her for being brave and wanting to give it a try. Other than that it was a slightly uneventful afternoon. I'm just glad the weather was perfect. I guess we should have gone to the parade that morning or the fireworks that night. Two friends in the ward had children getting baptized that night so we hurried home to go to the baptisms.

Check out these cute videos.
