Birthday Boy

Caleb is the big number 2!  We had a little celebration with a couple presents from the kids and a new outdoor slide from mom and dad. 

We had Caleb's little friend Oakley and her parents over for cupcakes and ice cream.  Caleb sure enjoyed his double chocolate cupcake and mint chocolate chip ice cream!  I think he felt loved and enjoyed all our attention today.  We love that special kiddo!

Wicked Weekend

I took Lily to see Wicked this weekend.  It was soo fun to see her emotions and enjoyment throughout the play.  She felt sad when Elphie didn't have any friends at school.  She laughed out loud when Glinda was giving her a makeover.  She was so excited when she heard her favorite song, "Defying Gravity".  She smiled so big when Elphie and Glinda made up and said they would always be better because they were friends.  She said her favorite part was when the broom just flew across the stage.  "How did she do that?" She kept asking me.  She really enjoyed it and I'm so glad we got to do that together.

Isaac's First Basketball Game

Isaac had his first week of basketball practice and his first game.  He can't quite dribble but not very many of the boys can.  He can't quite get the ball high enough, but we are working on that.  At his game he did a great job staying focused, keeping his hands up, and keeping moving.  I was smiling most of the game cause it is just so cute to watch.  There aren't a lot of rules, you don't even HAVE to dribble the ball yet but hopefully all the kids' skills improve over the next few weeks.  I think Isaac had a great time.

 We also talked about fall time.  Isaac painted these awesome colorful leaves.

Camping Trip

Tommy took the two oldest kids on their first camping in a tent in the woods experience last weekend.  They had a great time and Tommy learned a few things (like always bring matches and extra blankets).  I'm even surprised Tommy actually took a few pictures for us in between getting the fire going, putting up the tent, getting the kids warm and fed.  They had a great hike in the morning and came home super happy.

 

 

Fun Photo Update

I'm teaching art preschool again this year but I have a new challenge... Caleb.  He used to nap the whole time but this year he isn't going down for a nap until later so I get to try to keep him out of our way for half the time.  One day I gave him a paintbrush and some paper with a dot of paint.  Somehow he managed to drop his paper and get paint all over himself.  Good thing it was washable!

One day Lily did a color challenge, finding things around the craft room in different colors and taking a picture.  It was pretty cute but not as much fun to put away.

We had some heavy rain this past month which always floods our side yard.  The kids had fun slipping and splashing in the big "puddle" though.

 

 

Right after they played in the puddle they wanted to go swimming and the pool felt "soo warm" according to Isaac.  Silly Las Vegas weather!
