On Saturday, we took The Girl and The Boy and Katie out to the Pumpkin Patch. They had a lot of rotting pumpkins so we carried around two that were half way decent and in the end, decided not to get any pumpkins there. They had an area for the kids to pet animals and ride horses. In the mix with the goats, donkey, sheep and turkeys, they had a camel, a big bull thing with no horns, and a ZEBRA. Huh??? Yeah, that's what I thought too. The Girl's frightened face was because a kid just told her little brother not to touch the zebra or he will bite him.

They had a pumpkin sling shot that T HAD to try (and pay twice as much for because he has a hard time hearing or he was just too excited). The Girl wanted to do it too. After ward they gave her a dinosaur (why a dinosaur, I just can't say) and she wanted to sling shot the dinosaur.

Next we did the hay maze. The Girl liked that until the row she went down didn't come all the way back to us. She figured it out without too much sadness and was pretty excited when she found her way out.

Next up... we let The Girl choose to do this tractor pull ride or a bounce house. I explained she would only get to do one of the two. She choose the ride and since it was getting ready to leave I didn't argue with her and just put her on it. After about 10 sec. she started crying. I ran to catch up with with and she cried, "I don't like this ride! I want to do the bounce house!" Because they didn't ask her for tokens when she got on the ride, I told her she could do the bounce house when the ride stopped. She cheered up and seemed to enjoy the end of the ride a little more. It looked pretty boring if you ask me!

Nice photo op for our family picture! Thanks for the kids' outfits grandma! They looked so cute. We are so glad Katie got to come up and spend the weekend with us!

BOUNCE HOUSE STORY: I have to start by saying THE GIRL IS A FLIRT! She was playing on this big blow up slide thing. She had gone up and down at least a dozen times. Then one time she was going up the ladder she decides to slip on purpose and start saying "help, help". After a few kids fought their way passed her a boy 6 or 7 years old came up behind her and tried to help her up. He first tried pushing her from behind, which made Katie and I laugh. Then he put his arm around her and helped her up the slide. Then they would slide down together and do it again. I started giving her the warnings ("3 more times", "2 more times") and when I told her "last time" she stayed up at the top for a long time. I tried getting her to slide down but she knew it would be time to go. After some kids were waiting for her to go, she finally got pushed down. She tried stopping in the middle of the slide and this same boy came to her rescue and tried to help her go back up the slide. It was hilarious! Where do they learn this "damsel in distress stuff"? Must be one of those instinct abilities. I've said it before... I'm a little afraid of teenage Girl!
