The New Do

The Girl told me last night after her bath that she wanted short hair, "not like a boy, short hair like a girl." So I gave her a little trim and cut her bangs short again. I think she is just adorable. Here's her new do, and a snake that she was bringing to preschool for "s" day.

Sweetie Pie

The Boy is such a cute little boy. He LOVES to climb up the stairs. I am constantly watching him climb up and helping him slide back down on his belly, feet first. I'm hoping he figures out how to climb down the stairs with this repetition. In case you wish you could be here and watch him climb up the stairs all day long, here is a video for you.

It is also fun cause I am now coming into his room after a nap to find him sitting up or standing. He is loving pulling himself up to stand next to things. :) So cute. He's growing up so much. He was making the cutest grins today at lunch time so I had to snap some photos of him. His two bottom teeth are soo close to coming in and I just can't wait! Hopefully it will help him sleep better. We love the toothless grin though and will enjoy it while it lasts! He is also getting close to clapping and waving.

The Girl Talk... or should I say SING

Today at church our opening song was "I am a Child of God." The Girl recognized the tune right away and started BELTING out the entire first verse at the top of her sweet little lungs. EVERYONE at church was turning their heads and looking back at The Girl. T and I just sat there with red faces in the world (and maybe some teary eyes). It was so cute and embarrassing and awesome all at once. My sweet little singer.

Another The Girl Talk for ya: After church she said, "Mom, I would like some gum that doesn't lose its flavor please."

Boy Friends

The Girl has two main boy friends, Ryan and Roman. Last week after learning about the temple, The Girl decided she wanted to marry Roman in the temple. Today she played with her friend Ryan, who informed his mom that he wanted to have a baby with The Girl. Crazy three-year-old kids! :)

Dancing and Dentist Fun

The Girl did so well at dance class on Monday. She was dancing so well and really paying attention. It was the first time I was proud of her this week... and on a Monday!

Then Tuesday we went to the Dentist. I was a bit nervous about The Girl's first dentist visit (well, she has been before but they just counted her teeth so it doesn't really count). She did great! She loved getting her teeth cleaned and asked lots of questions. She especially loved watching cartoons with headphones and a tv on the ceiling! She also loved "Mr. Thirsty," the suction hose. This was super cute and exciting to me because she HATES loud noises and vacuum cleaners especially. She also had to wait while they finished my cleaning so she was charming all the office ladies with her songs and stories, and trying to get treats out of them. One of them told me there were about 5 ladies ready to adopt her if I needed a break. :) Nah, I think I'll keep her.

Texas Fun!

Our trip to Texas was ... interesting.

On Sunday after Christmas, T, I and the kiddos flew to Dallas, TX. Flying with two little kids is so much work, even with T there to help! You would think the hardest part is keeping your kids quiet and un-bothersome to all the people around you for a good duration of your flight but actually getting through airport security is really half the battle! My sister-in-law was supposed to have had her baby before we got there, but the little guy decided not to come early or on time.... so, instead of relaxing and baby watching... we did LOTS of walking. We walked around the park, to new parks, around the neighborhood before bed, at the mall, anywhere we could to try to get the baby to come. We walked so much, by the time I got home I noticed that my shoes broke! Oh man, guess I have to go get a new pair (if I were rich, I would have lots of shoes cause I love them). Anyways... she finally started having some contractions and went to the hospital on Dec. 30th. She wasn't making any progress after 12 hours or something so they were looking for reasons to induce her. After a sonogram they decided her fluid level was a "little low" and they could induce. Well, after 5 more hours she was only dilated to an 8 and the baby's heart rate dropped dramatically so they rushed her in to an emergency c-section (just in time to get her tax break!) I was so happy I was able to go and help her get ready to come home from the hospital. It was definitely a different vacation. I can't imagine how hard a c-section birth is on a mother!

Well... we finally flew out of Dallas on Saturday night but had to go through Denver. In Denver, not only did I have to share a plane with a TON of Utah Ute fans coming home from the Sugar Bowl... but we had to wait an extra hour for them to get there because their flight from New Orleans was delayed. That made our arrival time into Salt Lake 12:30 in the morning. We got back to my parents house and loaded up the car. T wanted to go ahead and drive at night while the kids slept. We left their house around 2:30 and drove into town at 7:30 a.m. YUCK! I will never say "yes" to doing that again. It was so hard to keep my eyes open for the hour that I drove to give T a break. The kids did sleep the whole time and until 11:30, so we all got to get a few hours of sleep before Church. Well after getting the kids to bed Sunday night at 7, T and I went to bed at 7:30. It felt so great to wake up at 8:30 Monday morning! Whew. What a weekend! Now look at the mess I get to clean up:
