So Proud of Lily

Last Friday, Lily graduated from a level 3 reader.  I'm so proud of her.  She is now reading 4th grade level books.  We are reading "The Tale of Despereaux" together and we are talking about new vocabulary she finds and I think it is just awesome!  She gets to have lunch with her principal for graduating this level.  She's pretty stoked about that.  Here she is going down the row giving her classmates high fives.  So cute!

On Saturday Lily auditioned for a big play.  They had a dance number the kids had to learn.  It had a lot of head banging and air guitar and fist pumping.  She wasn't too good at it but definitely did her best.  Then they each sung a song.  She practiced really hard on Skyscraper by Demi Lovato.  I think she did awesome.  Hopefully we will hear back in the next few days.  It would be a lot of practice this summer but a great experience for her in a real production.

Here is her audition video if you want to watch.  Sorry it is a little hard to hear her at the beginning.  It gets better.

Sad Caleb

Caleb had another accident.  Friday he fell as he was heading outside and split his lip open really deep.  It was bleeding a ton and it looked crazy bad so I took him over to urgent care.  He was pretty good at waiting and when the doctor finally looked at it she said he needed one stitch to hold it together while it healed.  They swaddled him up tight and I helped hold him down and the doctor put in one stitch really quickly.  He was pretty sad about all that.

A few more birthday pics

On Isaac's actual birthday we were lucky enough to have Shauna and the whole Clark family pass through on their way home from Utah from Samantha's baby blessing. Isaac had fun opening presents from Grandma and Grandpa while eating lunch at Jack in the Box with Daddy. He wanted to put his new clothes on right away as well as open all the legos he got. He had a blast playing legos with Grandma when we got home and going swimming with his cousins when Lily got home from school. It was a short visit but a fun time to celebrate Isaac's birthday!

Isaac's CARS party

Isaac had a fun party with some friends today.  It was all about CARS.
Lily colored this picture for Isaac then turned it into a welcome sign for the party guests.
We had a fun cardboard race track to race hot wheels down.
We did an obstacle course in the backyard with ropes to climb through, hoops to jump through, tires to jump in and tunnels to crawl through.  It was pretty hot so this activity didn't seem to last as long as I was thinking.
Then we moved on to cake and presents.  He sure loved that part!  He was soo excited to get lots of CARS!

Isaac loves his little bean bag/pillow.  Thanks Keiza for making it!
Then I had put together some cardboard box cars (with lots of help from friends!) and the kids had a little race out in the front.  I think Isaac had such a blast.   I can't believe my little boy is turning 4!

Tommy did it again!

Today we had a Stake Fun Run with over 400 participants, many kids, and super hot weather.  Tommy won the 10K but completed half the course before everyone on the 5K too so pretty much he won the 5K and 10K.   Soo proud of him!  Lily, Isaac and I ran the one mile, with Caleb in the stroller and Isaac hooking up a ride most of the time.  Lily wanted to run ahead of me but actually got lost and ran a bit passed the one mile turn around spot.  Tommy met up with her and helped her turn around and head back.  She was exhausted when she crossed the finish line.  Proud of her too!

Here you can see Isaac running with his friend Isaiah holding hands on the far left.  So cute!

Tommy the Speedster

Forgot to blog about it...  Tommy ran an awesome race last month.  For the Las Vegas Corporate Challenge, he ran the 5K for his company and won FIRST PLACE in his division.  He beat all his competitors and got a PR of 18:53.  Way to go Tommy!  So proud of you for not hurling in front of the cameras at the finish line this time!

Easter Saturday

The Easter Bunny paid a visit to our house today.  The kids enjoyed finding their eggs and baskets of goodies in the backyard.  Caleb loved shaking his eggs and loved them even more when he found out there was candy inside!
Grandma Tessie is having a fun time enjoying the day with us!
The kids went to an Easter egg hunt with Grandma on Friday:

First T-Ball Game!

Isaac had his first t-ball game today. It was so fun to watch him. He didn't really do much, the first inning he did get to play 1st base so he got to catch the ball and throw it home after each at-bat. He did a pretty good job on his hits and got to run around all the bases since he was last in the line up. His attention span was as good as can be expected. Hopefully it just gets better from here. I think he had an awesome time. He enjoyed his family there cheering for him and getting a treat at the end. He said his favorite part was hitting the ball hard.  Gooo  Cubbies!
The game is a very relaxed version.  Each kid gets a turn at bat and gets to keep trying until they get a "good" hit.  Then they run to first.  Only one kid on the field retrieves the ball, since is usually makes it a little ways down the pitchers line, and he throws it to first.  The first baseman throws it to the coach at home plate.  They had three innings and that was long enough for Isaac.
Isaac ran from 2nd to home so they told him to run back to 3rd, then go home.  He'll get the hang of the whole bases thing. :)
The dirt is just soo fun to play in.
