Dancing and Singing Star

Lily was the star performer last night... at least for our family. :D She had a full day of dancing: practice at noon, dress rehearsal at 4:30 and two performances with two dances and one song each! What a night! She did a great job and sure made us proud.

This photo only shows about half of the dance company that was there on time for the dress rehearsal.

I posted the 5 videos on YouTube so they would upload easier.

Sacramento Trip

We had a great trip to Sacramento this past weekend. We visited with lots of family we don't see very often and celebrated my husband's grandparent's 50 years of marriage. It was a pretty eventful weekend. Lily did great in the car ride there, though Isaac only did okay... for only sleeping 20-30 minutes only each way, he did pretty good. Lily was very excited to meet her great-great grandma and even said on the way home, "I miss my great-great grandma."

On Saturday we played a lot outside... rollar skating, crochet, bounce house, slip and slide, ping pong, pinata, and wiffleball. She especially loved watching Uncle Eric go down the slip and slide. She called him "dude" and they were buddies the whole weekend. It was pretty cute. Isaac took good naps, surprisingly! He loved crawling around on the grass and being outside so much.

We took family pictures (super hard with 5 little ones) and had a big family dinner with even more extended family. They had open mic there and Lily just LOVED being about to talk on the mic and be the center of attention. She is sure an entertainer! She also got lots of attention from her new friends Karen and Karen. :D More trip pictures can be found on our Shutterfly Site.

Trains!

A month ago, Tommy's parents were cleaning out their garage and mailed us a big box with some of Tommy's things. Along with tons of baseball cards, they sent a few pieces to his big train set. Lily got so excited and wanted to set up a train track and play trains right then. To her disappointment, we couldn't set up anything with only one train car. Well, last night we got two very large boxes in the mail, full of the complete train set. I think Tommy was almost as excited as Lily to set it up! It was pretty cute to watch them together, daddy and daughter train playing time. I know Isaac will love it too... when he gets a little older.

Favorite Things

Isaac has a new favorite thing: putting things on his head... hats, sunglasses, pants, anything. He was having so much fun trying to get the glasses to stay on. He would crawl for a few steps and then they would slip off and he would stop to try to put them on again. He would be satisfied with them dangling down by his chin, as long as they were on some how. It was soo funny to watch him. Enjoy!

A Haircut from a 4 year old?

Yeah, Tommy's crazy... Lily loved it! I'll miss his curly hair until I get to see it in the Fall. I don't blame him though. If I could get away with a buzzed head I would totally do it too!

An honest energy discussion

See below for an excellent speech from a very sharp guy whose company benefits REGARDLESS of whether carbon legislation is passed or not.

Picture Post

I'm soo excited. I got a new camera for my birthday and it is soo fun to play with. I haven't even learned half the things it can do and already love it. Here are some new shots with my new camera.

Here are just a few photos from this week:

Thanks Lanie and Papa for this great slip that adds some much needed length to this dress I have had for a year now but didn't like wearing because it was close to being too short.

We finally planted seeds in our little garden last night, after a long weekend of weeding. We planted carrots, beets, basil, and cantaloupe here. On the other side of the house we have the rest of my herb garden and will plant tomatoes and bell peppers, when we get those weeds cleared!

Isaac playing around in the laundry hamper and having a fun time. :D

Princess Party

Lily was able to attend a fun birthday party last week. Guess who else was there? Belle! from Beauty and the Beast. Lily was soo excited. She dressed up like Belle, along with a few of her friends and had such a great time playing games with "the real Belle", as she said. Too cute!

Not only did she get to dress up (her favorite thing!), with Belle they played the Hokey Pokey, Limbo, three-legged races, face painting, decorated wands and crowns with glitter paint and jewels, and more. What a great party! (Click on the picture to enlarge.)

Mother's Day

Tommy: "Lily, what should I get my mom for Mother's Day?"
Lily: "Um, waffles. Or how about a fly catcher?"

Swim Star

Lily is doing great at her new swim class. She can float on her stomach and back. She is getting close to being able to swim on her own with her strong kicking feet. It's pretty exciting.

Isaac and I have a fun time watching her. Isaac just learned to suck out of a straw. It makes drinking much easier for him sitting up! See his four teeth?
