Lily's spelling list

Just thought this was pretty cool... Here is Lily's spelling list for the week.

beautiful, system, themselves, quite, distance, although, possible, suddenly, language, window, grew.

She has had some difficult words in the past but they are progressively getting harder.  (last week she had piece, surface, already, either, whether..)

She is working off of the Sitton Spelling Word List 1200 High-Frequency Writing Words.  These words are listed in the order of their frequency of use in everyday writing. The first 25 words are used in 33% of everyday writing. The first 100 words appear in 50% of adult and student writing, and the first 1,000 words are used in 89% of everyday writing. 

She has passed off over 500 words so far!  She is also 75% proficient in the next large group of words that her teacher pre-tested her on.  We will keep working on it through the summer, but I'm hoping she can make it through the 1000 list before the beginning of 2nd grade! :)
